The ceremony also witnessed the signing of MOUs with Coal India Ltd, NTPC, PGCIL, and REC to enhance generation capacity, transmission systems, and financing.


NLC India Limited and the Government of Rajasthan signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday to establish a Joint Venture focused on developing a 125 MW Lignite Based Power Plant and a massive 1000 MW Solar Power Plant.

 

The MoU, valued at over Rs 7000 Crores, outlines the establishment of a 125 MW Lignite Pit-head Thermal Power Plant in Bikaner district and a substantial 1000 MW Solar Power Plant, showcasing NLCIL's commitment to renewable energy initiatives.

 

 Additionally, a Letter of Intent (LoI) has been issued for an 810 MW solar power plant, aligning with NLC India's corporate plan to reach a capacity of 17 GW, including more than 6 GW of renewable capacity by 2030.

 

This MoU exchange marks a significant step towards sustainable energy infrastructure in line with the nation's ambitious renewable energy targets.

 

The ceremony also witnessed the signing of MOUs with Coal India Ltd, NTPC, PGCIL, and REC to enhance generation capacity, transmission systems, and financing.

 

In his remarks, Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi commended the proactive vision of the Prime Minister and the unwavering commitment of the Rajasthan CM in expediting these transformative projects. Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Coal Secretary of the Government of India, expressed confidence in the prowess of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Coal Ministry, affirming that with the infrastructure and land support provided by the Rajasthan Government, the signed projects will substantially enhance the nation's energy security.

 

The ceremonious exchange of the MoU was attended by notable figures including Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD of NLC India Ltd, and Devender Singhvi of RVUNL, along with Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan; RK Singh, Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy; Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan;  Heeralal Nagar, Energy Minister of the Government of Rajasthan;  Sudhansh Pant, Chief Secretary of the Government of Rajasthan; and  Amrit Lal Meena, Coal Secretary of the Government of India.
