Prime Minister Modi chaired a meeting with his Council of Ministers on Sunday, deliberating over the vision document for "Viksit Bharat: 2047" and drafting an action plan for the forthcoming five years.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the agenda encompassed a comprehensive 100-day plan aimed at prompt implementation post the formation of a new government in May.
Modi urged his ministerial counterparts to secure public support during the impending polls. "We will meet again after winning (polls)," a source quoted the Prime Minister as remarking.
The roadmap for "Viksit Bharat" is the culmination of over two years of intensive groundwork, employing a "whole of government" strategy engaging all ministries and soliciting inputs from various quarters including state governments, academia, industry bodies, civil society, scientific organizations, and youth mobilization.
An official revealed, "More than 2,700 meetings, workshops, and seminars were held across different echelons, garnering suggestions from over 20 lakh youths."
Delineating a comprehensive blueprint, the sources highlighted that the "Viksit Bharat" initiative encapsulates a national vision, aspirations, goals, and actionable points, with a focus on economic growth, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ease of living, ease of doing business, infrastructure, and social welfare.
During the meeting, several ministries articulated their propositions, marking what is anticipated to be the final gathering of its kind before the announcement of Lok Sabha polls.
Previously, the Prime Minister had tasked his Cabinet colleagues with formulating "actionable, measurable, and clearly defined plans" for the upcoming government tenure.
Exuding confidence in securing a third consecutive term, Modi has set ambitious goals for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ruling alliance, aiming to clinch 370 seats for the BJP and over 400 for the broader coalition in the Lok Sabha polls.
