The Rajasthan government signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 63,463 crore during the 'Rising Rajasthan' Pre Summit organised by the Mines and Petroleum Department on Friday.

The MoU ceremony, held in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, saw the exchange of agreement letters between Principal Secretary Mines T. Ravikant, Director Mines Bhagwati Prasad Kalal on behalf of the state government, and representatives of the concerned institutions.

During the event, Chief Minister Sharma encouraged investors to present their investment proposals for the upcoming 'Rising Rajasthan Summit', scheduled for December 8, 9, and 10.

He called on them to become partners in the state’s development journey. Sharma highlighted that Rajasthan has created a conducive environment for industrial investment, which will drive the state's economic growth, progress, and job creation.

Reflecting on his recent visit to Japan and Korea, Sharma noted that Japanese representatives shared that they are making good profits in Rajasthan. He also mentioned that companies, including the Korean Stone Company, have expressed interest in investing in the state.

Sharma urged Indian and foreign companies operating in Rajasthan to reinvest their profits into the state’s industrial development, thus fostering new investment and employment opportunities.

Sharma also pointed out that Rajasthan is rich in mineral reserves, including gold, silver, lead, zinc, marble, and granite. He revealed that a Letter of Intent (LOI) had been issued to Uranium Corporation of India for uranium mining in Sikar’s Rohil region. Furthermore, deposits of rare Earth elements have been discovered in Barmer, Jalore, and Nagaur.

He emphasised that Rajasthan’s auction of 32 major mineral blocks over the past seven months has positioned the state as a leader in the sector, with the highest number of auctions in the country.

The Chief Minister outlined the state's new mineral policy, which aims to accelerate mineral exploration, ensure timely allocation of mining concessions, streamline the mineral gravel system, and make the mining process more transparent and efficient.

The policy also focuses on using the latest technology, boosting industrial investment, and creating more employment and revenue in the mining sector.

Sharma also shared that Rajasthan produces around 15 per cent of India’s total crude oil and 3.3 million cubic metres of natural gas per day.

Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant discussed the state’s abundant mineral wealth and indicated that a comprehensive roadmap is being developed to fully tap into these resources.

Principal Secretary Mines T. Ravikant reported that the state has signed investment proposals worth over Rs 1,41,184 crore in the mining and petroleum sectors. Of these, Rs 63,463 crore were signed at today’s event, adding to the Rs 77,721 crore in previous MoUs.
