Citing a surge in orders, on-demand food and grocery delivery platform, Swiggy, has increased its platform fee to ₹15 in certain areas.
This is the second recent hike by the platform, having earlier increased its platform fee to ₹14 mid-August. It had first introduced a platform fee of ₹2 in 2023.
Platform fee, which is inclusive of GST, is a flat rate that delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato charge from their customers on food delivery orders.

On Tuesday, its rival Zomato had raised the platform fee on food delivery orders from ₹10 to ₹12 as demand surged in the festive season. It had last revised its fee in October, 2024.
Platform fee helps aggregator platforms improve their margins on average food order values of ₹500 and above.
Swiggy has not made a formal announcement regarding a fee hike, yet.
