Jaguar Land Rover, owned by Tata Motors, announced the start of local production for the Range Rover Sport in the Indian market.
As a result, the entire Range Rover lineup is now manufactured in India, according to the company.
In May of this year, Jaguar Land Rover revealed its plans to manufacture the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in India at Tata Motors' Pune facility.
The new Range Rover Sport is available with both petrol and diesel engines and is priced at Rs 1.40 crore (ex-showroom), as stated by the company.
"It's a significant milestone as we begin the deliveries of the locally-manufactured Range Rover Sport. With this, the complete Range Rover portfolio is now made-in-India and the local manufacturing footprint expands to six vehicles in the portfolio," said Rajan Amba, Managing Director, at JLR India.
