Tata Consultancy Services aims to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company, with 130 of its top 139 clients already selecting the firm as their AI services partner, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director K Krithivasan said.

In his letter to shareholders in the company’s Annual Report for 2025-26, Krithivasan said FY26 marked an “inflection point” for enterprise artificial intelligence as businesses moved decisively from pilot projects to large-scale deployments.

“To realise the opportunities offered by AI, we set out a bold aspiration to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company. Our strategy to realize this aspiration is to be a full-stack AI services player from Infrastructure to Intelligence,” he wrote.

Krithivasan said clients generating over USD 50 million in annual revenues had increasingly turned to TCS for AI-led transformation initiatives.

To support the shift, the company significantly expanded its AI talent base. More than 2.7 lakh employees now possess advanced AI skills, marking a threefold increase from the previous year, he said.

The CEO also highlighted several large-scale digital projects executed in India during the fiscal year.

“We scaled the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) into the world’s largest government e-commerce marketplace, with procurement exceeding Rs 5 lakh crore. We upgraded YONO 2.0 to serve 20 crore users in 10 languages. We also modernised citizen services such as ePassports and built the RBI’s new data management system,” he noted.

Krithivasan outlined TCS’ “Build-Partner-Acquire” strategy for strengthening its AI ecosystem and pointed to the acquisitions of US-based ListEngage and Coastal Cloud, which have positioned the company among the top five global Salesforce consultants.

He also highlighted the launch of ‘HyperVault’, TCS’ AI infrastructure business in partnership with TPG, with plans to build 1 Gigawatt of data centre capacity in India to meet rising AI computing demand.

Looking ahead, Krithivasan said enterprises scaling AI would require a unified “AI Operating System” to make deployment repeatable, secure and governable.

He said TCS would focus on building industry-specific AI systems, creating India’s first high-density AI data centre, strengthening its “Infrastructure to Intelligence” offerings through 3,600 partnerships, and establishing secure and sovereign AI infrastructure.
