The Telangana government announced on Tuesday that it will formulate six new policies aimed at bolstering industrial development in the state, including specific policies for the MSME sector and exports.
The new initiatives, revealed during a review meeting led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with officials from the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, will also encompass a life sciences policy, a revised electric vehicles policy, a medical tourism policy, and a green energy policy.
Chief Minister Reddy emphasised the importance of developing these policies to position Telangana as a competitive player in the global industrial landscape. He urged officials to examine and incorporate the best practices from industrial policies worldwide.
During the meeting, officials updated the Chief Minister on the decisions from previous reviews and the progress of ongoing projects. In addition, Reddy proposed the creation of a new policy aimed at benefiting power loom and handloom workers to further promote the state's textile industry.
The Chief Minister directed officials to finalise the new industrial policies before the end of the model code of conduct.
