Leading auto-makers, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Skoda Auto India and others have reported higher sales in India in October 2025, which they attribute mostly to GST reforms that brought down car prices.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Saturday reported a 39 per cent rise in total sales, with 42,892 units sold in October as compared to 30,845 units in the same month last year.
Meanwhile, the exports were at 2,635 units last month, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said in a statement.
“The favourable economic environment during the festive season, reinforced by the government’s forward-looking GST reforms, has also boosted market confidence. At TKM, this has resulted in a significant rise in customer enquiries and order intakes, collectively driving our overall performance,” said Varinder Wadhwa, TKM Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business.
Wadhwa said the company recently introduced festive editions of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Edition and the 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition, which helped in driving sales.
Skoda Auto India also reported high sales to the tune of 8,252 units in October 2025. The company said the figure marked its highest-ever monthly sales.
The growth is driven by sub-4 metre SUV, the Kylaq, with steady demand for the Kodiaq, Skoda’s flagship luxury 4x4, along with sustained contributions from the Kushaq and Slavia sedan, Skoda Auto India said in a statement.
Strengthening its India presence this year, the company said it sold 61,607 units between January and October 2025, already beating its previous annual record of 53,721 cars sold in the calender year 2022.
