The Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha's 'Kamal Mitra' is a unique training program aimed at educating its female workforce about PM Modi's implemented schemes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to deploy over 8,000 dedicated women campaigners, referred to as 'Kamal Mitras', to engage with women voters in Uttar Pradesh.

These Kamal Mitras will inform women about 15 women-centric schemes of the Central government. Trained to provide details in nine languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odiya, Gujarati, Marathi, and Bengali, the Kamal Mitras aim to reach approximately 7.15 crore women voters.

The registration of these Kamal Mitras took place through a website during an extensive nationwide drive by the BJP's 'Mahila Morcha' between May and December 2023.

Suchita Pathak Kakkad, State In-Charge of BJP’s Kamal Mitras campaign, stated, “We have enrolled nearly 8,000 Kamal Mitras in all 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttar Pradesh."

The Kamal Mitras initiative aims to gather feedback from women regarding the schemes, provide information about eligibility criteria and required documents, among other details. The app for Kamal Mitras was designed by a US-based company.

Registration on the portal involves providing a mobile number and One Time Password (OTP) generated on the respective numbers. Applicants undergo video training sessions on the portal to become certified Kamal Mitras.

The website offers video training sessions on all 15 women-centric schemes of the government, followed by an objective test of 35 questions. One must complete each session sequentially, with no option to skip or fast forward.

Kaynat Kazi, a member of the National Executive Council of Mahila Morcha, highlighted that the Kamal Mitra said the Kamla Mitra campaign was the vision of Mahlia Morcha National President, Vanathi Srinivasan, and the top leadership to connect with women.

The initiative reflects the BJP's concerted effort to engage with women voters and disseminate information about government schemes, “The training also focused on how to combat Opposition propaganda against the BJP,” she added.
