In the Rajasthan, BJP candidate Manju Sharma emerged victorious in the Jaipur Lok Sabha seat, securing a total of 8,86,850 votes, as confirmed by the Election Commission. The EC data revealed that Sharma attained a significant lead, defeating her Congress rival and former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas by a margin of 3,31,767 votes.
Sharma, aged 64 and a newcomer to politics, was chosen by the BJP over the incumbent MP Ramcharan Bohra, who had won the seat by a substantial margin of 4,30,626 votes in the 2019 elections. The Jaipur Lok Sabha seat has long been perceived as a stronghold for the BJP.
According to the latest data on the EC website, the BJP is leading in 13 other seats across Rajasthan, while the Congress is leading in eight seats. Additionally, the INDIA bloc constituents, including the CPI(M), Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, and Bharat Adivasi Party, supported by the Congress, are leading in one seat each.
Furthermore, the None of the Above (NOTA) option received a total of 10,428 votes in the Jaipur constituency.
