The BJP's Sudhanshu Trivedi has lashed out at the Congress manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, alleging that it contains images from abroad, including "Rahul Gandhi's favorite destination, Thailand."

In a media address, Trivedi criticized the Congress manifesto, pointing out that certain pictures seemed out of place, including one depicting water management which he claims is actually of the Buffalo River in New York State. Trivedi questioned the wisdom behind including such images and raised doubts about their origin.

According to Trivedi, the Congress manifesto featured a picture from Thailand under the Environment section, suggesting that it was Rahul Gandhi's favored destination. He questioned who was responsible for selecting these images and raised concerns about the authenticity of the manifesto's content.

The Congress manifesto, released for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, highlights the party's vision of 'Paanch Nyay' or five pillars of justice, including justice for youth, women, farmers, workers, and equity. It outlines various promises and guarantees to address the needs of different sections of society.

Among its key proposals, the Congress pledges to conduct a nationwide Socio-Economic and Caste Census to understand the socio-economic conditions of various castes and sub-castes. Additionally, the party promises to raise the 50 per cent cap on reservations for SC, ST, and OBC through a constitutional amendment.

The manifesto was crafted after extensive consultations across the country and receiving thousands of suggestions through email and the 'Awaaz Bharat Ki' website. The Congress Working Committee, including leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, deliberated on the manifesto's contents in a meeting held in March.

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are scheduled to be conducted in seven phases, commencing on April 19 and concluding on June 1. The results of the elections will be announced on June 4, marking a crucial event in India's democratic process.
