In the run-up preceding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has unveiled its 5th list of Lok Sabha candidates.
MoS Home Affairs Nityanand Rai has been nominated to contest from Ujiarpur.
Rural development minister Giriraj Singh has been named as the candidate for Begusarai, while former Union Minister for Communication Ravi Shankar Prasad has been nominated to represent Patna Sahib.
The list also features Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been chosen to contest from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh after a long period of speculation regarding her candidature.
Another notable inclusion is Naveen Jindal, the Vice Chancellor of OP Jindal University, who will contest from Kurukshetra.
Sita Soren, the sister-in-law of Hemant Soren, has been nominated for the Dumka constituency in Jharkhand. The BJP has also tapped into political talent, with Jagadish Shettar selected to contest from Belgaum and K Sudhakaran named as the candidate for Chikkaballapur.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is set to contest from Sambalpur, Pratap Sarangi from Balasore, and Sambit Patra from Puri.
Additionally, Aparijita Sarangi has been named for Bhubaneswar, while Arun Govil, known for his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana, will contest from Meerut.
