Kalpana Soren Murmu, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today attacked the BJP saying that the ruling NDA government has been trying to suppress tribal voices by ignoring the long pending demands of the tribal communities.
While addressing a public meeting during the nomination filing of JMM’s candidate from Singhbhum, Joba Manjhi, Kalpana said that the people of Singhbhum neither bowed before the British nor before any dictatorial government.
“We have to uproot the BJP, which wants to snatch away the rights and privileges of the tribal people. When the proposal was made to include the language in the 8th Schedule as soon as the government was formed in the state, the Home Ministry said that it would think later. They rejected the demand for Sarna's religious code. They want to end the reservation. Would you choose such people? Will you elect such people who do not talk about your rights and entitlements in Parliament?” she asked.
“The people sitting at the Center want to suppress you. They think you are an insect. Will you tolerate it? INDIA block’s coalition government will be formed at the centre. You have to support our candidate to weed out the BJP from the Centre,” said Kalpana.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren appealed to people on the occasion not to allow BJP to open its account in Jharkhand.
“This time we will win all 14 seats in Jharkhand. We did a lot for the development of Jharkhand. BJP never thinks about tribal interests. It doesn't think about the welfare of the natives,” he said.
“They are giving a promise of guarantee this time. But one doesn't know what the guarantee is. BJP betrayed the people in Jharkhand. Our government gave the scheme in the remote areas of the forest. It gave benefits to every family,” he said.
