In Ladakh's political arena, BJP's incumbent MP, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, reaffirmed his allegiance to the party by extending support to candidate Tashi Gyalson, following internal disagreements.

Meanwhile, the Congress unit in Ladakh faces division between Leh and Kargil districts, with conflicting nominations highlighting the internal strife.

Namgyal, while supporting Gyalson, emphasised unity within the BJP and pledged to work towards Ladakh's prosperity and security. He asserted that despite internal differences, the BJP aims to secure victory in Ladakh and contribute to the party's larger electoral goals.

On the Congress front, Tsering Namgyal filed his nomination, advocating for Ladakh's inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. He pledged to address the demands of the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), advocating for Ladakh's statehood and representation in Parliament.

In Kargil, the KDA founding members, Mohd Hanifa Jan and Sajjad Kargili, filed nominations independently, reflecting the alliance's determination to advocate for Ladakh's interests. Jan, backed by senior Congress leaders, emphasised KDA's agenda and vowed to represent the region's aspirations.

Despite internal conflicts, both LAB and KDA remain committed to advocating for Ladakh's demands, including statehood, constitutional inclusion, and youth employment. Sajjad Kargili, echoing similar sentiments, emphasised his commitment to voicing the people's concerns.

As the nomination process concludes, Ladakh braces for a competitive electoral battle, with candidates vying to address the region's pressing issues.

The scrutiny of nominations and subsequent campaign activities will determine the course of the political landscape in the run-up to the elections on May 20.
