The Ranchi district administration in Jharkhand has filed an FIR against 26 people and several unknown persons for showing a tableau of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inside jail, while ED and CBI officers stand outside the bars.
The tableau was put on display during a procession of nature festival Sarhul of the tribal community here in Jharkhand on Thursday.
Different types of tableaux were brought during the procession, but the tableau, in which former Chief Minister Hemant Soren was seen lodged in jail, grabbed eyeballs.
The Ranchi district administration considering the show of the tableau and slogans written on it – Jail ka tala tootega, Hemant Soren Chhootega (Jail’s lock will be broken, Hemant Soren will be released) -- as violation of the Model Code of Conduct lodged the FIR.
It was also shown in the tableau that Hemant Soren is being exploited by ED in the fight for the development of Jharkhand.
In the FIR registered on the statement of Magistrate Vinay Kumar at Kotwali Police Station of Ranchi, it is written that in the tableau under the leadership of Phoolchand Tirkey, the religious occasion was used with political intentions. Political matters were included in the religious tableau.
This is a case of violation of the model code of conduct.
Twenty Six people, including Central Sarna Committee Chairman Phoolchand Tirkey have been named in the FIR by the district administration.
These include committee vice president Pramod Ekka, Prashant Toppo, Nirmal Pahan, general secretary Sanjay Tirkey, secretary Vinod Oraon, besides members Raju Oraon, Surendra Munda, Pancham Lohra, Vinod Bhagat, Shankar Lohra, Ram Oraon, Akash Oraon, Dinu Oraon, Balku Oraon and others.
Notably, a number of tribal organisations are in support of JMM and Hemant Soren and had also organised protests when Soren was arrested by the ED in the alleged land scam case related to money laundering.
