As the Lok Sabha elections loom closer, the Congress Party has initiated its 'Ghar ghar guarantee' campaign from the heart of the nation, Delhi. This campaign aims to reach out to over 80 million households across the country, promising significant assurances to the citizens.
Jairam Ramesh, the Congress General Secretary in Charge of Communications, elucidated that as part of the campaign, party workers and leaders will distribute guarantee cards to 8 crore families.
These cards encapsulate the essence of the party's promises, including the 'Paanch Nyay' principles and the 25 guarantees outlined by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
The launch of the 'Ghar ghar guarantee' campaign coincides with the impending release of the Congress manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for April 5. This manifesto is anticipated to spotlight the 'Paanch Nyay' principles, focusing on justice pillars such as 'Yuva Nyay', 'Naari Nyay', 'Kisaan Nyay', 'Shramik Nyay', and 'Hissedari Nyay'. Additionally, it will encapsulate the assurances made by the party to the electorate for the upcoming polls.
The formulation of the Congress manifesto underwent an extensive process, inclusive of nationwide consultations and the solicitation of thousands of suggestions through email and the party's 'Awaaz Bharat Ki' website. This inclusive approach underscores the party's commitment to represent the aspirations and concerns of the populace effectively.
In contrast, the Congress took a dig at the BJP's manifesto committee, criticising its formation as a last-minute endeavour. Jairam Ramesh remarked that the BJP's manifesto seemed to be a mere formality, lacking the depth and sincerity expected in such crucial documents.
On March 30, the BJP constituted a 27-member committee, headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, to prepare its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections. However, the Congress deemed this effort as belated, insinuating a lack of genuine engagement with public concerns.
As the political landscape intensifies in the run-up to the elections, both the Congress and the BJP are gearing up to present their respective visions and promises to the electorate, setting the stage for a crucial electoral battle.
