The Delhi High Court has declined an urgent listing for the plea filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, challenging his arrest and custody in the Delhi Excise policy case.

Kejriwal, who moved the Delhi High Court on Saturday, sought relief from his arrest and the remand order granted by the trial court on March 22. However, the court has scheduled the matter for listing on its reopening on Wednesday, as confirmed by the Registrar General of the Delhi High Court.

Kejriwal's arrest by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on March 21 in connection with the now-scrapped excise policy case has sparked legal action from his side.

His legal team contends that both the arrest and the remand order are 'illegal', emphasizing his entitlement to immediate release from custody. Seeking an immediate hearing from the Acting Chief Justice, preferably on Sunday, March 24, Kejriwal's legal representatives are pushing for swift judicial intervention.

The ED, which secured custody of Delhi CM Kejriwal until March 28, has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of being the primary beneficiary of the proceeds of crime generated in the alleged liquor scam.

This development follows the Rouse Avenue Court's decision on Friday to remand Kejriwal to six days of ED custody in the money laundering case associated with the alleged liquor policy scam, extending his detention until March 28.

The legal battle surrounding Kejriwal's arrest underscores the intensity of the allegations and the political ramifications of the case. As Kejriwal and his legal team navigate through the judicial process, the nation watches closely, anticipating the outcome of this high-profile legal showdown.
