Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a fiery speech at a public rally in Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh, launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and the Congress party.
Shah, referencing the Mahadev betting app scam, accused the Congress of corruption and urged the people to vote for the BJP with force. He asserted, "Press lotus symbol so hard that tremors are felt in Italy," in a swipe at Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's Italian origin.
Shah highlighted various alleged wrongdoings of the Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh, including unfulfilled promises and corruption scandals. He emphasised the need for decisive action against corruption and inefficiency in governance, rallying support for the BJP ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In his address, Shah also reassured the people regarding reservation policies, asserting that the BJP is committed to protecting the rights of marginalised communities.
He criticised the Congress for its alleged failures in governance, contrasting it with the BJP's track record of development and inclusive policies.
Furthermore, Shah highlighted the achievements of the Modi government, ranging from infrastructure development to welfare schemes for farmers and the poor. He praised the government's efforts in eradicating Naxalism and strengthening national security.
Shah's speech comes at a crucial time as Chhattisgarh gears up for parliamentary elections. With 11 constituencies at stake, both the BJP and the Congress are intensifying their campaign efforts to secure victory.
The state has historically been a stronghold for the BJP, winning 9 out of 11 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
As the political landscape heats up in Chhattisgarh, Shah's rallying cry for support underscores the high stakes involved in the upcoming polls. The electorate's decision on polling days will shape the future trajectory of the state's political landscape.
