In a stern warning issued on April 14th, 2024, the Eastern Nagaland People's Organization (ENPO) alongside tribal bodies, Eastern Nagaland Women Organization (ENWO), and Eastern Nagaland Students' Federation (ENS) have cautioned citizens of Eastern Nagaland against participating in the electoral process, declaring that those who defy the ENPO Resolution will be marked for "BETRAYAL" for eternity.

The advisory, released amidst the ongoing Eastern Nagaland Public Emergency declared on March 5th, 2024, asserts that any citizen engaging in the electoral process will bear responsibility for any disturbances occurring at polling stations, potentially leading to law-and-order issues within Eastern Nagaland.

Furthermore, the organisations have pledged protection to individuals, including elected members and government servants, who voluntarily abstain from voting in adherence to the ENPO Resolution.

Expressing gratitude for the region's cooperation during the ongoing public emergency, the ENPO, Tribal Bodies, ENWO, and ENS have urged citizens and outsiders alike to refrain from disrupting the peace, cautioning against actions that may provoke the agitated public.

"Eastern Nagaland citizens or outsiders to refrain from disrupting the ongoing peaceful Public Emergency in order to avoid any awkward situation that is anticipated considering the magnanimity of the agitated public," a statement read.

In a bid to maintain order, the organisations have announced rigorous checks on all vehicles, including police vehicles, entering Eastern Nagaland, to prevent the transportation of liquor and other intoxicants.

The ENPO has squarely blamed the State Government for the delay in settling the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) with the Ministry of Home Affairs before the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the General Elections 2024.

The State government, however, has failed to provide comments on the draft MoS for FNT despite receiving it from the MHA in December 2023.

Consequently, the ENPO contends that the commitment made by the Indian government to settle the FNT arrangement before the MCC's implementation remains unfulfilled, as the State government's comments are still pending.

Reaffirming their steadfast commitment to the Chenmoho Resolution, the ENPO maintains its stance on abstaining from voting in any Central or State election with unwavering sincerity.
