In the run-up to the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, wife of Union Minister and BJP candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia, has joined the campaign trail to support her husband in Madhya Pradesh.
Arriving in Bhadora village, Guna district, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia expressed her deep-rooted connection with the people, emphasizing that their relationship spans over 300 years. She emphasized that her presence was not merely as a leader, but as a part of a longstanding familial bond with the community.
Reflecting on Jyotiraditya Scindia's defeat in the 2019 elections, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia invoked the saying 'Ghar ki murgi daal barabar' (One undervalues what one possesses while coveting others’ possessions), suggesting that despite the loss, Scindia's commitment to serving the people remains steadfast.
Addressing the residents, she questioned the absence of defeated candidates after elections, contrasting it with Scindia's continued engagement with the community. She emphasized that their relationship transcends political affiliations and is based on familial ties.
The 2019 defeat prompted introspection, but Priyadarshini Raje Scindia underscored the enduring commitment of the Scindia family to the welfare of the people. Despite the setback, Scindia's dedication to serving the constituents remained unwavering.
Jyotiraditya Scindia's defeat in 2019 led to significant political upheaval, culminating in his departure from the Congress party in 2020. His subsequent entry into the BJP fold reshaped the political landscape, leading to his nomination as a Union Minister.
In the upcoming elections, Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting from the Guna seat on the BJP ticket, facing competition from former BJP leader Rao Yadvendra Singh, now representing the Congress party.
The Guna constituency, along with eight others, will go to the polls in the third phase on May 7, marking a crucial juncture in Madhya Pradesh's electoral landscape.
Madhya Pradesh, with its 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, holds significant political importance. The ongoing elections, spanning four phases, reflect the state's diverse electoral dynamics, with outcomes that will shape its future political trajectory.
