A protest unfolded outside Tihar Jail on Monday as anticipation mounted over the imminent arrival of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal had been remanded to judicial custody until April 15 by a court in connection with a case related to the excise policy-linked money laundering.

Scores of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers, donning party insignia and 'Main Bhi Kejriwal' T-shirts, congregated outside the jail premises in a show of support for their leader, who is expected to be housed in Jail Number 2.

Security measures were heightened outside Tihar Jail to ensure law and order amid the gathering of protesters. A senior police official affirmed the deployment of adequate security personnel to prevent any disruption to public order.

"No one will be allowed to breach law and order situation," the officer asserted, underlining the authorities' commitment to maintaining peace and order.

The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory regarding traffic disruptions on Jail Road, cautioning commuters about potential delays in the carriageway from Delhi Cantt towards Tilak Nagar due to the ongoing demonstration. Commuters were advised to seek alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

Arvind Kejriwal was presented before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja after the conclusion of his custody under the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED had sought a 15-day judicial custody for Kejriwal, citing his alleged lack of cooperation.

Kejriwal had been arrested by the federal probe agency on March 21 in connection with the liquor policy case. Subsequently, the court granted the ED's request for an extension of Kejriwal's custodial interrogation until April 1, following which he was placed in judicial custody until mid-April.

The developments surrounding Kejriwal's case have garnered significant attention, with political observers closely monitoring the proceedings and the reactions from various quarters. The protest outside Tihar Jail reflects the support base of the AAP and their solidarity with Kejriwal amid legal challenges.
