Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently out on interim bail in the liquor policy case, made a compelling appeal to voters during an election rally in Moti Nagar area, urging them to support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls to prevent his return to Tihar jail.

Kejriwal's plea, laden with emotive rhetoric, emphasised the crucial link between electoral support for AAP and his personal freedom. "I have to go back to jail after 20 days. If you choose 'jhadu' (AAP's symbol), I won't have to go back to jail," he conveyed passionately during the roadshow.

Granted interim bail by the Supreme Court for campaigning in the Lok Sabha polls, Kejriwal faces the looming deadline of June 2 to surrender. His bail hinges on the outcome of the elections, adding weight to his fervent appeal to voters.

In a scathing critique of the BJP, Kejriwal attributed his legal troubles to his relentless advocacy for the people of Delhi. "My fault is that I built schools for Delhi-NCR. They sent me to jail because I worked for you," he asserted, highlighting the perceived vendetta politics at play.

Kejriwal also recounted harrowing experiences during his previous incarceration, alleging medical neglect. "I arranged facilities for free medicine for people but when I was in jail, for 15 days, they did not give me diabetes medicine. I was not given insulin for 15 days in jail," he revealed, portraying the hardships faced.

Furthermore, Kejriwal warned against the potential ramifications of his return to jail, painting a bleak picture of BJP's governance. "If I went back to jail, the BJP would stop your work, free electricity, degrade schools and shut down hospitals and Mohalla Clinics," he cautioned, underlining the stakes for Delhi's residents.

Accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal rallied support for AAP's Lok Sabha candidate Somnath Bharti, seeking to galvanise voters ahead of the sixth phase of polling scheduled for May 25.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal unveiled AAP's "Kejriwal ki Guarantee," outlining ten ambitious promises, including the pledge to reclaim Indian land from Chinese occupation, if the INDIA bloc assumes power at the Centre.

As Delhi gears up for the crucial electoral showdown, Kejriwal's impassioned appeal underscores the high-stakes nature of the upcoming polls and the intertwined fate of political leaders and their parties.
