As Madhya Pradesh prepares for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 13, Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has assured the public that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to facilitate a smooth and efficient voting process.
Addressing the media in Bhopal, Rajan provided key details about the upcoming polls, emphasising that voting will take place for eight Lok Sabha seats across the state. He highlighted that this phase follows three previously completed phases, marking another step in the democratic exercise.
Rajan elaborated on the logistical preparations, noting that each polling booth has been equipped with shade and drinking water facilities to mitigate the effects of the heat.
Additionally, arrangements for essential amenities such as medicines and chairs have been made, ensuring the comfort of voters, particularly the elderly and those accompanied by infants.
The constituencies slated for voting in the fourth and final phase of Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh on May 13 include Ujjain, Dhar, Dewas, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Indore, Khargone, and Khandwa.
With the completion of this phase, Madhya Pradesh will have concluded its participation in the national electoral process, which has been conducted in four phases.
The first phase commenced on April 19, followed by the second phase on April 26 and the third phase on May 7, underscoring the state's significant role in shaping the outcome of the general elections.
The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4, marking the culmination of the electoral process and the determination of the representatives who will serve in the Lok Sabha.
Madhya Pradesh, with its 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, holds substantial political importance, ranking sixth among all states in terms of representation in the Lower House.
Of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved, reflecting the state's diverse socio-political landscape.
