Navneet Kaur-Rana, the Bollywood actress turned politician and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Amravati Lok Sabha constituency, attracted attention once again as she arrived to cast her vote in a unique fashion on Election Day.
The 38-year-old, dressed in a striking golden-orange sari, opted for a unique mode of transportation amidst scorching temperatures reaching 39 degrees Celsius. Opting out of a car, she chose to ride pillion on her husband Ravi Gangadhar Rana's Bullet motorcycle, forgoing helmets.
Accompanied by a convoy of supporters and eager media crews on motorcycles, Kaur-Rana delivered fervent speeches urging citizens to exercise their voting rights. Expressing confidence, she anticipated victory for a second consecutive term, citing a purported three-lakh vote margin.
Grabbing a media person’s microphone, Navneet delivered appeals for voter turnout, asking people to step out and vote, how each vote would be an endorsement for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"I have taken the blessings of Lord Hanuman and recited Hanuman Chalisa before stepping out of home… I am certain that Bajrangbali will shower his blessings on me, and provide me with another opportunity to serve the people of my constituency," she remarked with a smile.
Donning a casual white kurta-pyjama, her husband, MLA Ravi, adeptly navigated through traffic, ensuring a safe journey to the polling station. Upon arrival, the couple cast their votes, proudly displaying their inked fingers as a symbol of participation in the democratic process.
Hailing from Mumbai, Navneet, the daughter of a former armyman with Punjabi roots, has shown a flair for adventure, often seen speeding along roads. Her interaction with constituents goes beyond traditional campaigning, as evidenced by her tractor ride through farmland and social media outreach.
In June 2023, Navneet undertook a farm visit ahead of monsoon rains. During her trip to Patur taluka, she took charge of a farmer's tractor in the barren farmland, being readied for the upcoming Kharif season crop.
Following a heated confrontation with former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who led the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Mumbai, Navneet took to social media, sharing numerous video clips documenting her experiences.
