BSP leader Mayawati has vowed to champion the cause of a separate state for western Uttar Pradesh and push for the establishment of a bench of the Allahabad High Court in Meerut if her party secures power at the Centre.

Addressing a rally in support of her party's candidate from the Meerut Lok Sabha seat, Mayawati criticised the Congress, BJP, and SP on the issue of reservation, accusing the SP of hindering quota benefits for SC/ST communities.

She pledged to address the demands and issues of the region, including the establishment of an Allahabad High Court bench in Meerut. Mayawati highlighted her party's past efforts to pass a resolution for a separate state, emphasising the need for better development in the western region.

Mayawati criticised the failure of the central government to address these demands but assured that her party would take proactive steps if elected to power.

She also accused the SP of undermining reservation policies and urged SC/ST voters not to support the party. Mayawati denounced the BJP and Congress for their casteist and pro-capitalist policies, alleging that they have failed to uplift marginalised communities.

Warning against the tactics employed by rival parties to gain power, Mayawati urged voters to prevent the Congress, BJP, and their allies from assuming power in the upcoming elections.

Mayawati emphasised her party's commitment to representing diverse communities, as evident from the nomination of Devvrat Tyagi from Meerut instead of a Muslim candidate.

She highlighted the importance of local representation by fielding candidates like Hitendra Upadhyay in Hathras and Suresh Singh in Mathura, based on community preferences.

Mayawati concluded by urging voters to support BSP candidates in the upcoming elections to ensure the representation of their interests and concerns at the national level.

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will see polling in eight parliamentary constituencies, including Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, and Mathura, among others, on April 26, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
