The first meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third cabinet is expected to take place today around 5 pm at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg.

On Sunday, 71 individuals were sworn in as ministers in Modi's cabinet at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, following the NDA's majority win in the Lok Sabha elections.

The new cabinet comprises 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State (MoS).

Among the new ministers, a dozen are from BJP allies, while the rest belong to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Prominent Union Ministers such as Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, S. Jaishankar, and Nirmala Sitharaman have retained their positions, whereas Smriti Irani and Anurag Thakur have been excluded.

In the previous two terms during the 16th and 17th Lok Sabhas, the BJP enjoyed an absolute majority, which was evident in the composition of the council of ministers, with only a few positions allocated to alliance partners.
