Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi are set to make appearances in Kerala on Monday, energizing their respective party bases as part of their campaigning efforts leading up to the impending Lok Sabha elections.

Modi is slated to address two public gatherings in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur, while Rahul will host a rally in Wayanad, his electoral constituency where he seeks re-election.

With all 20 Lok Sabha seats of the state up for grabs in the second phase of voting on April 16, Modi's rallies are strategically aimed at bolstering the BJP's electoral prospects in a region historically dominated by other parties. This marks Modi's sixth visit to Kerala this year.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the BJP has fielded Union minister Rajeev Chandrashekar, challenging Congress stalwart Shashi Tharoor, while actor Suresh Gopi represents the party in Thrissur.

Simultaneously, Rahul's presence in Kerala, particularly in his stronghold of Wayanad, is expected to galvanize support for the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), which aims to replicate its success from the 2019 elections when it secured 19 out of 20 seats in the state.

Rahul's candidacy in Wayanad has stirred political fervor, setting the stage for a dynamic electoral contest against prominent figures such as senior CPI leader Annie Raja and K Surendran, the state BJP chief.
