'Choose PM who represents India globally,' PM in Jaunpur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Kripashankar Singh amid Lok Sabha elections, in Jaunpur on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Speaking at an election rally in Jaunpur on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed the importance of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, portraying them as an opportunity for India to select a leader capable of leading a robust government that can project the nation's strength on the global stage.

In his speech delivered at a college ground, Modi rallied support for BJP candidates Kripashankar Singh from the Jaunpur parliamentary constituency and BP Saroj from the Machhlishahr (reserved) seat.

He stressed the pivotal role of voters in shaping the country's leadership, stating, "This election is an opportunity to choose the Prime Minister of the country. Such a Prime Minister who runs a strong government which cannot be dominated by the world but which makes the world aware of India's strength."

PM Modi highlighted the importance of casting votes for BJP candidates as a means to establish a robust government, asserting, "Therefore, when you vote for our Kripashankar ji from Jaunpur, BP Saroj ji from Machhlishahr, your vote forms a strong government. The votes given to them will go directly into Modi's account."

Amid chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Har Har Modi', Modi acknowledged the fervor of the crowd, expressing confidence that the alliance opposing the BJP, known as the INDI alliance, would face a formidable challenge in Uttar Pradesh.

Shifting focus to development, Modi pointed to the transformation occurring in Kashi and Ayodhya, emblematic of the progress spurred by his government's initiatives.

He remarked, "You have seen in Kashi how a strong government works. We are seeing it happen in Ayodhya." By emphasizing the significance of these historically significant cities in the national discourse on development, Modi sought to underscore his government's commitment to inclusive growth.

The Prime Minister also outlined his vision for a developed India, with Purvanchal, the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh, serving as the growth engine. He pledged to work alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to revolutionize the fortunes of Purvanchal over the next five years.

The Prime Minister's remarks came ahead of the upcoming voting in Jaunpur and Machhlishahr, scheduled for May 25.
