BJP poll in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Ram Madhav, has said the region is expected to witness a big change in the upcoming Assembly polls, and NC, PDP, and Congress will be voted out of power.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar, Madhav said, “J&K has to be free from terrorism and dynasties. We are focused on tourism and development. Our agenda is simple." Going into the polls, we have a lot of support from the people earlier and now as well.”
In Jammu, the BJP has people’s support, he added. “Even in Kashmir, our 20 candidates are fighting the polls. We are hopeful of positive results” Madhav said.
Around 5,000 people were present at the rally, he claimed. “People of Kashmir are coming to listen to the BJP. There is a change this time around. The three
families — NC, PDP, and Congress — will be voted out of power.”
He took a jibe at the NC-Congress alliance and said, "These people have promoted radicalism, and fundamentalism in the UT, and by coming together they want to promote these kinds of ideas.
“There was a time when the people of J&K were not accepting the BJP, but today the situation is entirely different. We are confident of opening our account in Shopian, and candidates of the BJP will come out victorious,” he said.
Earlier on Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a massive poll rally in Kishtwar, said, that the upcoming elections in J&K will be fought between two forces. On one hand, there is the BJP, which walks with the ideals of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra and Shyama Prasad Mookherji and on the other hand, some parties fuelled secessionism, promoted terror, and did corruption.
Hitting out at NC chief Farooq Abdullah, Shah said that “Farooq ji used to utter that even if Modi Ji becomes Prime Minister 10 times, he cannot remove Article 370.
“Mehbooba Ji used to say that if Article 370 is removed, there will be bloodshed. But our Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed Article 370 and established one flag, one leader, and one Constitution in the country.”
Assembly polls will be held in Jammu and Kashmir in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1. Votes will be counted on October 8.
