The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar has unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, focusing on key issues such as advocating for a caste-based census, a demand that has been evaded by its ally, the BJP.

 

During the manifesto release event, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar emphasised the party's commitment to social equality and unity, echoing the sentiment of offering love to the world as espoused by social reformer Sane Guruji.

 

The manifesto underscores the NCP's dedication to mainstreaming deprived and backward sections of society, hence the call for a caste-based census.

 

Pawar reiterated that upon gaining power, the NCP will push for the implementation of a caste-based census, a demand that aligns with the Congress's stance but has faced opposition from the BJP.

 

Despite being part of the Mahayuti alliance alongside the Shiv Sena and the BJP, the NCP remains firm on its principles and stands independently on certain issues, including the demand for a caste-based census.

 

In addition to advocating for a caste-based census, the NCP's manifesto also includes other significant demands, such as granting semi-English status to Urdu medium schools in Maharashtra and ensuring a minimum support price for agricultural produce.

 

Pawar also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's contributions to the nation over the past decade and his leadership qualities. He expressed confidence in Modi's leadership, stating that it would lead to victory for the NCP in the elections, emphasising Modi's unparalleled stature in the opposition.

 

As the NCP lays out its vision for the upcoming elections, it stands firm on its principles of social justice and equality. With a manifesto advocating for a caste-based census and other crucial demands, the party signals its commitment to addressing the diverse needs of society.
