Delhi Police has successfully brought Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar back to Delhi from Mumbai. This move comes as part of the ongoing investigation into the Swati Maliwal assault case.

During his time in Mumbai, Bibhav Kumar was taken to three different locations by Delhi Police, with his phone's location being tracked at each spot. Statements from several individuals have been recorded by the Police as part of their investigation.

Earlier, Bibhav Kumar had been taken to Mumbai by Delhi Police to probe his alleged involvement in formatting his phone, which is considered crucial evidence in the case. The police are investigating whether the formatting was an attempt to destroy evidence, an act punishable under Section 201 of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Swati Maliwal, the victim in the case, has spoken out about alleged pressure on AAP party members to spread misinformation about her. Despite facing such challenges, she remains resolute in her fight for justice, expressing determination to continue until she receives it.

In response to the seriousness of the case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to delve into the matter further. Led by North Delhi’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Anjitha Chepyala, the SIT comprises three Inspector-rank officers, including the officer from Civil Lines Police Station where the case was initially registered.

The Swati Maliwal assault case has garnered significant attention, particularly as it emerged just before polling in the National Capital. It comes in the wake of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's release from jail and ahead of the final phases of polling scheduled for May 25 and June 1, with results slated for announcement on June 4.
