With the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh gaining momentum, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying its campaign efforts, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to address a rally in Pipariya on Sunday, marking his third appearance in the state within eight days.
The rally in Pipariya, located in Narmadapuram district, is strategically aimed at mobilising support for four parliamentary seats in the state—Hoshangabad, Betul, Chhindwara, and Mandla.
PM Modi's address will particularly focus on bolstering the prospects of the BJP nominee from Hoshangabad, Darshan Singh Choudhary, while also making an impact on the Chhindwara constituency and the other two seats.
BJP spokesperson Rajneesh Agrawal highlighted the meticulous planning behind PM Modi's visit, emphasising its coverage across multiple parliamentary constituencies.
He noted that Pipariya encompasses parts of Mandla, Chhindwara, and Betul Lok Sabha seats, making it a strategic hub for the BJP's election campaign.
Chhindwara, in particular, is a keenly contested seat and considered a stronghold of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath. This time, the BJP is intensifying its efforts to secure victory in Chhindwara, which goes to polls in the first phase on April 19, along with five other parliamentary seats in the state.
Hoshangabad, scheduled for polling in the second phase on April 26, is another focus area for the BJP's campaign. However, Betul's election has been postponed to the third phase on May 7, following the untimely demise of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate.
PM Modi's upcoming rally in Pipariya follows his recent engagements in Madhya Pradesh, including a roadshow in Jabalpur and a public gathering in Balaghat earlier this week.
Madhya Pradesh, with 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, plays a pivotal role in the electoral landscape, with elections spread across four phases from April 19 to May 13.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured a landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh, winning 28 out of 29 seats, leaving just one for the Indian National Congress (INC). With the elections looming, both parties are gearing up for a spirited contest in the state.
