Renowned Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has once again sparked a heated debate with her recent statement, reigniting the flames of controversy that have often surrounded her remarks.

In a viral clip from a recent interview at a Times Now event, Ranaut made a bold assertion, claiming that Subhash Chandra Bose, the iconic freedom fighter and leader of the Azad Hind Fauj, was India's first Prime Minister, rather than Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

“Pehle mujhe ye baat aaj clear karne dijiye. Jab hume azaadi mili toh the first Prime Minister of India, Subhash Chandra Bose, woh kahan gae? (Let me clear this first. When we gained independence, where did the first Prime Minister of India, Subhash Chandra Bose, go)”

When the host reminded her that Bose was not the Prime Minister of India, Kangana floated a theory.

“He wasn't, but why? Where did he go? How was he made to disappear?” She said that SC Bose fought Japan, Germany for India's independence but was not allowed to land in India.

During the interview, which took place on March 27, Kangana Ranaut, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a Member of Parliament candidate from her hometown Mandi, raised eyebrows with her unconventional historical interpretation.

She asserted, "When we gained independence, where did the first Prime Minister of India, Subhash Chandra Bose, go?"

Despite the host's correction, emphasising that Bose was not India's Prime Minister, Ranaut persisted in her narrative, suggesting a mysterious disappearance of Bose and questioning the circumstances surrounding his absence from the post of Prime Minister.

She implied that Bose's contributions to India's independence struggle were overshadowed and that he was unjustly sidelined from the country's leadership.

However, historical records contradict Ranaut's claim, as India officially gained independence on August 15, 1947, while Subhash Chandra Bose had tragically passed away on August 18, 1945.

Following independence, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru assumed the role of India's first Prime Minister.

Ranaut's remarks have triggered a wave of criticism and disbelief online, with many social media users expressing their dismay and disbelief at her statements.

Some have taken to Twitter to mockingly highlight her previous controversial remarks, while others have expressed concerns about the potential impact of her statements if she were to hold a position of authority in the future.
