Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, finds herself in hot water as a lawyer has filed a complaint against her and others for allegedly sharing the court proceedings of the Delhi CM on social media platforms.

The complaint, lodged by a lawyer, alleges that Sunita Kejriwal and other political figures shared the court proceedings of the Delhi CM, who is embroiled in an excise policy case, on social media. The complaint further claims that the hearing was recorded and circulated online, violating the Video Conferencing Rules of the Court.

The accused individuals, including Sunita Kejriwal, Akshay (@Akshay), Promila Gupta (councillor, Ward 11, Timarpur), Vineeta Jain (vice president of INC Rajasthan), and Arunesh Kumar Yadav (@YadavArunesh), are accused of willfully disobeying the Video Conferencing Rules dated October 26, 2021, of the Court.

The complaint alleges that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members conspired to "malign and manipulate the court proceedings" through the unauthorised recording of audio and video.

The Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, was produced by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on charges of money laundering related to the Delhi Excise policy scam at Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on March 28. However, recording of court proceedings is prohibited under the High Court of Delhi Rules for Video Conferencing for Courts 2021.

Promila Gupta, a councillor and former member of the Delhi Commission for Women, allegedly posted the video/audio recording of the court proceedings on social media, with other AAP members sharing and resharing it.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. His judicial custody has been extended till April 15, and he is currently held in Tihar Jail. Videos and audio recordings of the AAP chief's address to the bench were circulated on social media with the tag ‘#MoneyTrailExposedByKejriwal’.

The complaint raises serious concerns about the alleged breach of court rules and the potential manipulation of legal proceedings through social media platforms, highlighting the complexities surrounding the intersection of law and digital communication in the modern age.
