The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs of the Delhi Assembly are scheduled to meet Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of jailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in the national capital on Tuesday, as per party sources. The meeting will take place at the residence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal shortly.

Since Arvind Kejriwal's arrest on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged liquor scam-linked money laundering case, Sunita Kejriwal has been conducting digital briefings similar to those previously done by her husband before his custody.

In response to recent developments, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi affirmed that Arvind Kejriwal, currently in judicial custody until April 15 and lodged in Tihar Jail, has not been convicted in the case and will continue to hold his position.

She emphasized that according to the Representation of the People Act, public representatives cannot continue in office if convicted for more than two years, which does not apply to Kejriwal at present.

On Sunday, Sunita Kejriwal delivered a message on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal from ED custody, outlining six guarantees to the nation on behalf of the INDIA bloc, aiming to shape "a new India."

Arvind Kejriwal was taken to jail on Monday afternoon following the conclusion of his Enforcement Directorate custodial remand. The ED portrayed him as the "kingpin" in the alleged scam, alleging that he had provided evasive replies and concealed relevant information during the investigation.

The case originated from a report submitted by Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena in July 2022, highlighting alleged procedural lapses in the formulation of the liquor policy. It led to the arrest of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

The Enforcement Directorate alleged that the liquor policy was formulated with deliberate loopholes to promote cartel formations, benefiting AAP leaders. They also claimed that AAP leaders received kickbacks from a group known as the "South Group."
