Home voting for elderly and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) commenced in the Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency and Ramnagar assembly seat on Wednesday, as per official sources.
CEO Puneet Agarwal highlighted the Election Commission's commitment to inclusive elections, underlining the provision of home voting for individuals unable to visit polling stations.
In Tripura West, out of the 14.61 lakh eligible voters, 4,581 PwDs and elderly individuals availed of the home voting assistance. Ramnagar assembly seat, falling within Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency, is part of this initiative.
The home voting facility enables a polling party to visit the homes of eligible voters to facilitate their voting rights. This service will be available for two days, on April 10 and 12.
For the Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency, home voting will take place on April 17 and 18, catering to 4,720 elderly voters and PwDs.
