Actor Arun Govil files nomination as BJP candidate from Meerut.

Veteran actor Arun Govil, renowned for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the iconic TV serial 'Ramayan', officially entered the political arena on Tuesday by filing his nomination as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Meerut Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Govil expressed gratitude to the BJP leadership for their trust in him and his candidacy for Meerut. He cited overwhelming public support as a testament to his candidacy.

"Arun Govil has submitted his nomination papers today. There is immense confidence among party workers and the public that the BJP will secure victory in all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and 400 seats nationwide," Maurya remarked.

Govil's nomination by the BJP was announced on March 24, following which he swiftly plunged into the electoral fray.

When questioned about the party's main rival, Maurya asserted, "According to us, there is no competition." He emphasized the BJP's focus on long-term goals, stating, "There is no opposition anywhere. There is a rivalry among SP, BSP, and Congress. Our preparations extend from 2024 to 2047, encompassing the Uttar Pradesh state assembly elections."

Arun Govil's transition from the screen to the political stage marks a significant development, drawing attention both locally and nationally as the BJP continues its electoral campaigns in Uttar Pradesh.
