Union Minister Piyush Goyal declared on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to make history by securing victory in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, thereby defeating AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
It's noteworthy that the BJP has nominated Madhavi Latha to contest against the four-time MP, Asaduddin Owaisi.
Goyal emphasised the determination of the people of Telangana to establish a robust and transparent government, envisioning a prosperous India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
He assured the citizens of Telangana that aligning with the BJP would lead to the development of both the state and the nation. Goyal expressed confidence that defeating Owaisi in the Hyderabad constituency would mark a historic milestone for the BJP.
The Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, including two seats – Hyderabad and Secunderabad, is set to vote on May 13 (Phase 4), with the vote count scheduled for June 4.
Taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, Goyal criticised the Congress leader, suggesting that he should focus on his political alliance in Kerala before venturing elsewhere for a safe seat.
Owaisi, who has represented the Hyderabad constituency in the Lok Sabha for four terms since 2004, has previously served as an MLA twice in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
The Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency comprises seven assembly segments, with six currently held by the AIMIM, except Goshamahal. However, this election poses a formidable challenge for Owaisi against the spirited BJP candidate, Madhavi Latha.
Latha, a cultural activist, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Nizam College and a Master’s in Political Science from Osmania University. Her candidacy adds a new dimension to the electoral dynamics, promising an intense battle for the Hyderabad seat.
