The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has announced its inaugural list of 16 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, with a focus on constituencies primarily situated in the western region of Uttar Pradesh. Notably, the majority of the candidates are first-time contestants to the electoral arena.
The party led by Mayawati has announced candidates for 16 seats out of 80 in Uttar Pradesh including Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnaur, Nagina, Muradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat seat.
Among the key selections, Zeeshan Khan has been nominated for Rampur, while Shaulat Ali will contest from Sambhal. Other candidates include Mujahid Hussain for Amroha and Devvrat Tyagi for Meerut.
In Saharanpur, the BSP has put forward Majid Ali as its candidate, while Shripal Singh will represent the party in Kairana and Dara Singh Prajapati in Muzaffarnagar.
Further, Vijendra Singh has been fielded in Bijnor, Surendra Pal Singh in Nagina (SC), and Mohammad Irfan Saifi in Moradabad.
The BSP's choices extend to Praveen Bansal for Baghpat, Rajendra Singh Solanki for Gautam Buddha Nagar, Girish Chandra Jatav for Bulandshahr (SC), Abid Ali for Aonla, Anis Ahmad Khan for Pilibhit, and Dodaram Verma for Shahjahanpur (SC).
This roster reflects the BSP's strategic dispersion of candidates across diverse constituencies, emphasizing a mix of fresh faces and seasoned individuals as it gears up for the electoral polls ahead.
