A case has been registered against actor Allu Arjun and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Shilpa Ravindra Kishore Reddy for violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, for allowing huge crowds to gather at Reddy's residence on Saturday.
A large crowd gathered at MLA's residence to cheer on the Telugu cinema star as he arrived there to support his friend, because of which MCC violation charges were levelled against both.
A case was registered by Deputy Tehsildar P Ramachandra Rao from Nandyala Rural, who is overseeing elections at the Nandyal constituency in Andhra Pradesh.
The presence of Allu Arjun at Reddy's residence came as a surprise as his uncle and Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan is contesting from the Pithapuram Assembly constituency.
After meeting Reddy, the actor, however, clarified that he had visited Nandyal to help his friend and was not supporting any political party.
"I came here on my own... I will help friends if they need my help. It doesn't mean I am backing or supporting any political party," he told a reporter.
