The Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival officials announced on Tuesday that R&B singer Akon will be the main act at the festival in November.
Additionally, the lineup includes R&B group Boney M, multi-platinum DJ R3HAB, and American nu metal band KORN.
Akon is scheduled to perform on November 16 as part of his 'Superfan Tour', which involves one show per country in Asia in November and December, with possible additional stops in as many as eight countries.
The Meghalaya government-supported Cherry Blossom Festival is set to take place on November 15 and 16. Known for its impressive lineups, the festival attracts thousands of music fans from all over the country each year.
Last year's festival showcased performances by Ne-Yo and Ronan Keating.
Boney M's performance at the festival is part of its farewell tour, officials said.
Tickets for the festival were available online with prices starting at Rs 3,299.
