Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, renowned for cult-classics such as ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and ‘Black Friday,’ is setting a price cap for aspiring talents seeking collaborations with him.
In a recent Instagram post, Kashyap expressed frustration over fruitless meetings with individuals who failed to contribute meaningfully to his projects. Henceforth, he declared fixed rates for meetings: Rs 1 lakh for 10-15 minutes, Rs 2 lakh for half an hour, and Rs 5 lakh for an hour, all to be paid in advance.
Kashyap emphasized that serious inquiries should abide by these rates, asserting, "Don’t text or DM or call me. Pay, and you will get time." He clarified his stance, stating, "I am not a charity, and I am tired of people looking for shortcuts."
While Kashyap has previously collaborated successfully with newcomers, including music composer Amit Trivedi for ‘Dev.D’ and rapper Divine for ‘Mukkabaaz,’ he now aims to deter mediocre proposals. This decision aligns with his desire to engage with fresh talent only when they offer substantial contributions to his projects.
