Actor Chad Michael Murray has officially joined the star cast of “Disconnecting Peter”, an emotional family drama following a fractured household grappling with unresolved trauma.
The story centers on Peter Ruck (Murray), a troubled husband and father whose destructive habits threaten to tear his family apart. While his resilient wife, Elizabeth, fights to maintain stability, their daughter, Jenna, faces the sudden collapse of her dreams to attend Juilliard. As tensions reach a boiling point, the family is forced to either confront their painful past or succumb to the growing chaos.

The film is directed by Christopher Beatty and is produced by Eddie Micallef. Production on the film is expected to start in January 2027 in New Jersey.
Beatty said the script is very personal to him. "The script is very personal to me, and I wanted to share my vision with a mass audience. I’m thrilled to be working with an actor as talented as Chad to help bring this complex character to life," he said in a statement.
Murray had his breakthrough in 2003 with his role in the television drama series "One Tree Hill". His latest work is "Freakier Friday", which released in 2025. He reprised his role in the film.
