Actor Charlize Theron and director Baltasar Kormákur are teaming up once again for upcoming action thriller “Six Clean Kills”. The project has been set up at Universal Pictures.

Kormákur is slated to direct and produce the film, with Theron serving as producer and expected to take on the lead role.

While the plot details remain a closely guarded secret, the script for the thriller is being penned by Stan Parish, adapted from his own upcoming novel.

This project reunites Theron and Kormákur after their recent successful collaboration on "Apex". That survival-action film, which also starred Taron Egerton, became a major hit for Netflix after its April 24 premiere.

Theron will produce “Six Clean Kills” under her Secret Menu banner as part of her first-look deal with Universal Pictures, alongside producers AJ Dix and Beth Kono. Kormákur will produce through Blueeyes Productions, while Parish will serve as executive producer.

Reports suggest the project began taking shape last year after Theron and Kormákur completed work on “Apex”.

Theron has maintained a long-standing relationship with Universal Pictures through her appearances in multiple instalments of the “Fast & Furious” franchise.

Kormákur is known for directing films such as “101 Reykjavik”, “Jar City” and “Everest”, many of which explore survival and emotional endurance against harsh backdrops. He previously collaborated with Universal on “Beast” starring Idris Elba.
