Captain America is coming back!
Actor Chris Evans has confirmed that he is joining the cast of “Avengers: Secret Wars” and Marvel fans can’t keep calm.
The news means Evans will be suiting up as Captain America once again for what is shaping up to be the biggest Marvel project in years.
Notably, when the much awaited first trailer of "Avengers: Doomsday" released during the screening of "Avatar: Fire and Ash," it was revealed that Evans, who spent over a decade defining Steve Rogers a.k.a Captain America for an entire generation of moviegoers, will return with the film that also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

Quite expectedly, the news triggered a wave of wild fan theories. Up until now, the Marvel community had been spiralling into endless debates about what lies ahead for Evans, with many convinced that his character was headed towards a heart-breaking departure with “Doomsday”.
But Evans has now confirmed, via a video on Instagram, that he would reprise his role as Steve Rogers for "Avengers: Secret Wars," which is coming to the theatres on December 17, 2027, exactly a year after the release of "Avengers: Doomsday" on December 18 this year.
In the now viral clip, the 45-year-old actor could be heard saying he would start "work on the next one" in "a couple of months.” However, he noted that he "can’t tell you how much I’m in the next one, but I’m in it.”

While Evans's confirmed return offers immense relief to Captain America and Marvel fans, it certainly won’t silence the rumour mill.

Meanwhile, in other Marvel news, Tom Holland and Zendaya-starrer "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is set to release on July 31. The film has been directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
