Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh will perform in Delhi on October 30 after the Delhi Police approved the concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The permission was issued after the organisers agreed to comply with conditions prescribed by the police. These include requirements related to the deployment of private security guards, crowd management and other event arrangements.
The concert had earlier been denied permission on Thursday, with security concerns cited for the decision. The authorities have since reversed the denial following the organisers’ acceptance of the stipulated measures.
Dosanjh had announced the India leg of his Aura World Tour, which is scheduled to cover seven cities. In his initial announcement two weeks ago, the tour was planned to begin in Delhi-NCR on November 1, followed by Indore on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29 and Lucknow on December 5.
A performance in Chandigarh has also been announced. However, BookMyShow, the official promoter, has not yet released the date and venue details for that show.
The India tour comes after Dosanjh’s performances across Europe and North America. Pre-sale tickets for the tour opened on October 6.
