Delhi Police has refused permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s concert scheduled for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, citing security concerns and law-and-order responsibilities during the ongoing festive season.
The event was planned as part of the singer’s Aura World Tour, which is scheduled to travel to several cities across India.
A letter issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, to ticketing platform BookMyShow said the request to organise the concert had been examined but could not be approved.
The communication referred to “specific threat-related inputs” and the multiple security and law-and-order arrangements required during the festive season, along with other important law-and-order concerns.
“In view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law & order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law & order concerns, the same cannot be acceded to,” the letter stated.
