Spiritual leader, author and social reformer Dr Vikram Mishra was honoured with the BIB Pride of Bharat Award 2026 at a ceremony held on September 15 at Hotel Taj in Patna. Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan attended the event as the celebrity guest.

The award recognises Mishra’s contribution to social reform and literature, including his bestselling book Train Your Brain to Win. The honour comes as he prepares to complete a new literary project centred on Mahadev and Lord Shiva.

Mishra’s book on Mahadev is nearing completion and is scheduled to be unveiled next month at Taj Mumbai. Author Chetan Bhagat is expected to launch the book.

The project will present Mahadev through a literary narrative and could also move into the cinematic space. Filmmaker Ravi Raj Murmu, who directed the short film Angen, has decided to develop a Bollywood Hindi film inspired by the characters and ideas in the forthcoming book.

Murmu recently received recognition at the 72nd National Film Award, where he was honoured as Best Debut Film Director for Angen.

Speaking about the project, Mishra said his spiritual journey had focused on taking the values and teachings associated with Mahadev beyond rituals and connecting them with everyday life. He said the book explores that relationship in a way readers can relate to, while the possibility of a cinematic adaptation would give the journey further meaning.

Mishra’s connection with Lord Shiva is also rooted in his family and cultural background in Mithila. His great-grandfather, grandfather and father had names associated with Lord Shiva, while his late mother was a devotee of Maa Girija and Lord Shiva.

In 2021, he built the Gangdhareshwar Mahadev Temple in Gopalpur, Darbhanga, in memory of his great-grandfather, Late Gangadhar Mishra. His spiritual activities have also included annual visits to Kedarnath and participation in religious and community initiatives.

His work extends beyond personal faith, focusing on compassion, social responsibility and service. He has been involved in blood donation, arranging blood support during medical emergencies and helping families facing difficult circumstances.

The upcoming book and its proposed film adaptation could take Mishra’s spiritual themes to a wider audience, bringing together literature, spirituality and Indian cinema. The planned launch in Mumbai is expected to mark the next stage of the project.

The BIB Pride of Bharat Award 2026 brought together achievers from different fields to recognise excellence and contribution. Mishra’s award adds another milestone to his journey across spirituality, writing, social reform and cultural engagement.
