In a significant update regarding the controversy surrounding Elvish Yadav, the Uttar Pradesh Police have disclosed findings from a forensic analysis conducted on samples collected from a rave party the YouTuber attended. The analysis confirmed the presence of venom from two snake species, cobra and krait, adding a new dimension to the ongoing investigation.
Elvish Yadav, known for his YouTube content and as the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2, found himself embroiled in legal troubles following a police raid on a rave party in Noida in November 2023. The raid was initiated amid suspicions that guests were using snake venom as an intoxicant. The case against Yadav not only involves his attendance but also alleges his involvement in the distribution and consumption of the venom.
During the investigation, Yadav implicated Bollywood singer Fazilpuria, alleging that the snakes featured in one of his videos were provided by the singer. This claim came in the wake of a sting operation by the NGO People for Animals (PFA), which led to the arrest of five individuals for snake smuggling. These individuals confessed to supplying snakes for the party attended by Yadav, resulting in the rescue of nine snakes, including five cobras, and the recovery of approximately 20 ml of suspected snake venom from the venue.
Despite these developments, Yadav has consistently denied all allegations against him. The Uttar Pradesh Police have conducted two rounds of questioning with the Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner to delve deeper into his alleged role in the snake venom trade, based on information from Rahul Yadav, a supplier caught in the sting operation.
Following these accusations, Yadav was formally charged at the Noida Sector 49 police station, and forensic testing of the party samples was carried out by the Jaipur Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Yadav has labeled the charges as "baseless" and "fake," committing to full cooperation with the investigative process.
The absence of other illicit substances at the party has led to the non-application of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 in this case, focusing the investigation solely on the use and distribution of snake venom.
