Kit Harington, famed for his role as Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones," has expressed a shift in interest towards playing more complex, anti-heroic characters following the conclusion of the acclaimed series.

The British actor, who gained international recognition for his portrayal of the noble warrior Jon Snow, admits to feeling less drawn to traditional heroic roles in contemporary screenplays.

Reflecting on his post-"Game of Thrones" career choices, Harington acknowledges a deliberate gravitation towards roles with shades of anti-heroism.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harington remarked, "If I look at the roles I’ve taken since playing an out-and-out hero in ‘Game of Thrones,’ I have to admit there seems to be some sort of pushback about playing a hero. I’m not so interested in heroic roles, and if I am, they have to be pretty anti-hero-ish..."

His desire for more complex characters led him to accept the role of Ricky in Rod Blackhurst's "Blood for Dust," a neo-Western crime thriller set in wintry Montana.

In this latest endeavor, Harington portrays a sociopathic drug-slinging arms dealer, complete with a distinctive handlebar mustache and gold chain.

Describing his character, Harington elaborated, "He's sort of a devil-on-the-shoulder character, the antagonist who's with you all the way through. He's like a good-time guy in a bad world. He doesn't want to have to face reality."

Acknowledging the challenges of portraying classic heroes, Harington expressed admiration for actors who undertake such roles, recognizing the inherent difficulty in making them compelling. He highlighf his current preference for delving into the complexities of flawed characters, finding intrigue in empathising with their motivations.

Harington's candid remarks shed light on the evolving landscape of character portrayal in contemporary cinema and television. =
